Guilherme DeAndrade, 88, passed on December 30th peacefully with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Armanda Deandrade. They were married for over 60 years.

Born in Brava, Cape Verde he was the son of the late Joao Baptista Guimaraes and Maria Conseicao DeAndrade and Godson of the late Idalina Guimaraes. He was a family man, very humble, helpful, strong and very smart. At just 14 years old he had built a boat with his Great grandfather and named it Marlene. From there he loved the experience and started traveling and seeing different places. Time went by and he became a captain on a big ship and traveled to Portugal, Italy, the entire continent of Europe and many other places. Guilherme is survived by his children Dilma DeFaria and her husband Amancio, Maria Goncalves and her husband Euclides, Helena Depina and her husband Cipriano, Ida Andrade Burgo and her husband Aires and his son Alexandre Almeida. He is also survived by his siblings Laura and Antonio Guimaraes and Carlota Reis. He had 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and many many nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held Saturday at 9am from the Keefe Funeral Home at Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a service at 10am. Burial will be in North Burial Ground, Providence. Relatives and family are invited. Calling hours will be held Friday 5pm to 8pm.
